2- Managing morning sickness

Let’s talk about morning sickness. Did you know that 70-80% of women will experience morning sickness during their pregnancy? Dr. von Hagen recommends eating a light, carb filled snack as soon as you wake up and to eat protein rich snacks throughout the day to maintain your energy levels even if you’re feeling nauseous all the time. 4- Managing gestational diabetes

We will round off this topic with a session on managing gestational diabetes. It is important to know that gestational diabetes is completely normal, and 1 in every 10 pregnant women will experience it. Thankfully, it does not mean that you need to give up sugar for life, nor does it mean that you will have diabetes for the rest of your life. Dr. von Hagen shares her insight into why gestational diabetes happens (genetics plays a huge role!) and some practical tips on how diet and regular exercise can be used to manage this type of diabetes.
